Registration Information

Friday Registration: 2 PM-5 PM

Sunday Registration: 8 AM- 5 PM

Shabbat Programming begins at 3:30 PM

Sunday sessions begin at 2 PM

Friday and Sunday Arrivals

We are staying in the Sixth College: 9685 Scholars Drive. Drop your luggage with us (look for the green balloons) before parking in Scholars Garage A golf cart will be available to give you a ride from Scholars Garage to the Registration area, which is outside the Hi Center. We are staying in Tapestry and Kaleidoscope dorms.

Commuters – Sunday

Registration for Commuters is also at Sixth College. Put your car in Scholars Garage, where you will have 30 free minutes parking, and come register.

For registration at all other times

Go to the NewCAJE office in the Price Center. The office is located in the George Revelle College Room, on the second floor, Room 214.

Transportation

Airport/Train shuttle tickets: Click the button below to purchase. Tickets are $20 each way.

Parking pass: You must buy them from the Parking App or the Meters on Campus. If you already paid, we will refund you at registration.

Parking: Scholars Garage is near the dorm. Gillman Garage is near the Price Center, where sessions will be.

Paying For The Conference

Outstanding balances must be reconciled at registration, unless you have made prior arrangements to pay later.

Key Deposit: Bring $36.00 in cash or a check made out to NewCAJE. The money will be refunded when you return your keys.

It is a tradition to donate the room deposit to NewCAJE–if you can!

Raffle: In exchange for your donation, you will get tickets to the raffle to win your choice of:

  • A Samsung or Apple Tablet
  • A Smart Watch
  • Ear Buds

Commuters are also encouraged to enter the raffle at registration.

Packing List

Please note that there is no dress code at NewCAJE. Many will be in casual clothes; others feel the need to dress more professionally. Participants may wear whatever clothes they wish, but we ask that everyone be respectful of our pluralistic group.

Currently, we are expected to see high 70s in the day and 61 at night. You can follow San Diego’s weather report at the button below. NOTE: There is no air conditioning in the dorms and classrooms.

  1. Comfortable, casual/semi-casual clothing.
  2. Pajamas, light sweater/jacket, hat.
  3. A bathrobe or cover-up.
  4. Comfortable shoes, shower shoes.
  5. Hangers–They are typically not in the closets.
  6. A portable iron.
  7. Personal toiletries, including toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc.
  8. Residents will receive a pillow, blanket, towel, sheets, and pillowcases.
  9. Bath towel.
  10. Phone, laptop, camera, chargers.
  11. Pens, pencils, notebook, etc.
  12. Kippah, tallit, and tefillin. 
  13. Checkbook, credit cards, or cash for the Exhibit area.
  14. Business cards.
  15. Coffee mugs and water bottles

Meals

The first meal of the main conference is dinner on Sunday. The last meal is lunch on Wednesday.

Sunday lunch will be only box lunches. If you haven’t ordered one, you can buy one at registration for $20.

***Sunday lunch is not included in Shabbat registration or regular conference registration.***

UCSD is providing all of our meals. All meals will be kosher under the supervision of Star K. Please contact Rabbi Cherie Koller-Fox with any questions or concerns.

The Conference Program Book Is Available Now!

Take the time to plan your conference before you arrive. Click on the blue link to read the Program Book.

SCHED, the online program of the conference, will be up and correct on Monday and NOT before. It is very important to note that there is no sign up for NewCAJE classes; therefore, we disabled the ability to do so. Simply, use SCHED or the physical program book you will receive at check-in and go to classes and ENJOY!

Certificates are for people who want to major in one topic. You can see the certificate choices in the Program Book on Pages 42-55 (see link above).
